Product Description
A FALLEN OFFICER
Glenn Turner was a big strong cop, a good friend, a loyal husband, and a loving son. But Glenn died in agony—his body racked with spasms, his mind plunged into delirium. And by the time he was found dead, Glen’s wife was more than ready for his funeral.

A SEDUCTIVE WIDOW
Julia “Lynn” Turner, a former sheriff’s assistant and 911 operator, had a thing for men in uniform—and for their money. While detectives and forensic examiners ruled Glenn’s death the result of a virulent flu, time would tell another story. Lynn was already secretly living with Randy Thompson, a firefighter, who would meet the same excruciating death…

A POISONOUS TRUTH…
Driven by family who would not give up their quest for justice, a new investigation and an explosive trial eventually exposed the truth about a woman who had a way of making men die, and about a means of murder that was pure intoxicating evil.

This author only interviewed people who knew the two murdered persons and not the woman. This is not democracy. I believe she was guilty but no one seemed to know her or like her. Why?

Well written true crime about a human black widow

Collins does an excellent job of exposing the character of the "black widow" Lynn. And what a cold, self-absorbed woman Lynn was! Everything had to be about her, all the time.

First, she ran after Glenn until he finally proposed. Glenn was a cop, a large, cheerful man who was decent and loyal. In many ways, an ideal husband.

But Lynn was furious when it turned out that the honeymoon cruise he took her on turned out to be a river cruise aimed mostly at families. Too selfish to care if she hurt his feelings, she complained loud and long about the family cruise and refused to sleep with him.

Later, Glenn confided to one of his friends that Lynn had only seen fit to sleep with him twice during all the time they had been married. Lynn told him she had medical problems.

However, there were no medical problems that stopped her from sleeping with lots of other men, especially one fireman. She allowed Glenn to work three jobs to keep up with her lavish spending while she showered expensive gifts on her newest lover.

Lynn killed twice, both times using antifreeze. Antifreeze causes horrible, unendurable pain. How could she watch men she claimed to love die in such agony?

Well written and absorbing, this one is a keeper.

I had seen the story on this case on Investigation Discovery and wanted to read the book. It is still difficult to believe that there are such greedy people in the world--not only killing the first husband, but the second one, too--when all these men were guilty of was falling for a shallow, monetarily driven woman who inflicted such pain on these men.

Good book, but a sad story for the families.

Interesting story... badly needs editing

I just finished reading the interesting story of Lynn Turner and her two victims, Glenn Turner and Randy Thompson. While I thought this case was certainly compelling reading, I also think this book could have used a couple more rounds with an editor. I found a few incidences where words were missing so that passages didn't make sense. The book has a bit of a tabloid feel to it as well. It seems rushed and doesn't provide much insight into Lynn Taylor's character.

The book also promises eight pages of "alarming" photos. While there is a photo section that runs for eight pages, I wouldn't describe the photos as alarming. There are some shots of key people involved in the case and important places. Lynn Taylor is herself pictured only once, in a candid snapshot that was taken at a bridal shower.

I did find reading about this case intriguing, but I do think that in better hands, this book would be a whole lot better than it is.

This book was OK in that it does hold your interest and tells the story of the much publicized anti freeze murders in GA. The book is well written. I felt the book would have been 5 stars if the author had gone into more detail and background on the victims and the convicted, Lynn Turner. This "lady" ?? would make a great study for any psychiatrist. It does hold your attention however and makes you feel the pain of the Turner and Thompson families. The book is an easy and quick read.
